Sustainability is part of how we design, make and operate. Our products require materials, energy and resources, and our responsibility is to use them carefully and reduce our impact wherever possible. From designing lighting that performs and lasts to how we work with people and communities, our focus is on making considered decisions and continually improving.
A plan for progress
People, Planet and Product form the three connected pillars of our sustainability strategy.
Together, they guide where we focus, how we measure progress and how we contribute to more than 11 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as our own Climate Transition Plan. Each pillar is supported by clear commitments, measurable targets and leadership from across Astro.
EcoVadis Silver medal
Astro has earned an EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing us among the top 15% of companies assessed. It's an important milestone, but not the end goal. We're building on that progress as we work towards Gold.

Longer life, lower impact
Designing for longevity means thinking beyond how a product performs today.
By 2027, we aim for 90% of our products to be fully dismantlable, making them easier to repair, maintain and recycle over time.
We're also increasing the amount of recycled material used in our products and reducing the packaging needed to ship them. Packaging changes have already reduced shipping volume by 18%.

We invest in wellbeing, development and an inclusive workplace, helping people feel supported and build their careers at Astro.
Through our partnership with SolarAid and support for local charities, we help bring safe, sustainable light to more communities while supporting people facing hardship closer to home.
Across our supply chain, regular audits uphold standards around human rights, safety and fair working practices.
A Greener HQ
At our global headquarters in the UK, renewable energy, lower-impact travel and practical waste-reduction initiatives are helping us reduce the footprint of our day-to-day operations.

Our HQ is powered by 100% renewable energy, through 460 solar panels on our roof, certified renewable electricity and certified renewable biogas.
Empowering sustainability
We are rolling out internal communications and training sessions to raise awareness and empower employees to live more sustainably, at work and at home.
Protect our surroundings
Employee volunteering and local environmental activity help care for the habitats around our headquarters.
Electric charging
We have installed 10 EV chargers to support our employees in the shift to electrification, and to reduce the carbon emissions of our company car fleet.
